Hadrian’s Wall 2023
Today has been much kinder to us and our feet.
Plus we managed to cut a deal with the kitchen that they will produce our brekky early so we can start earlier.
It is still very hot and the locals continue to comment that it never gets this hot.
Lucky us….
We still had a period of time on tarmac but not so long.
Today was gorgeous, so many pinch yourself moments of spectacular scenery.
Our path takes us through farms and paddocks and so many sheep and cows. They just watch us and totally disinterested in us.
There are not shops or cafes on the path but what they do have is, what I have affectionately called Donativos.
Little shops/ stalls where we can grab a cold drink, hot drinks, snacks and even frozen meals if you wanted.
Stopped for a bit of a rest and met Scottie from Birmingham.
Content in the knowledge that we only have about 3 miles to go.
Made it to Florries on the wall, our accommodation for the night.
Really, really nice. It’s a bunkhouse and again we share the room with our travelling companions. Not too tough we’ve been living closely for a while now.
Dinner tonight is lamb tagine, house speciality but I am trying not to think of all those lambs I have walked past today.
